Talking about an exciting live band!!
These guys kept their promise and handed me a 4 track demoCD.
Here we found pure rockabilly such as the excellent version of 'Flying Saucer Rock & Roll', boppin' boogie in Ronnie Self's 'Ain't I'm A Dog?', the instrumental 'Terlenka', a song of their own, in pure Shadows/Ventures style and 'The Motorbike Boogie' an excellent mix of boogie and rockabilly.
Live they rock in the best SUN RECORDS tradition, with a wink of Crazy Cavan and The Flyin' Saucers.
If anyone is looking for an excellent live-act, these are your guys. All we need to be completely satisfied is a full length-album.

All the way from Hoboken, the belgian dockyard, The Rattlekings. A Rock and Roll combo like they used to sound at the end of the fifties. No neorocka - psycho or other billy-type music that gets utterly boring and noisy when it takes more than three songs. Nope, these boys are cleanly shaved and cut, and play their three hour set in a spontaneous, and decent way. Rock & roll, rockabilly, surf, tearjerkers and loveballads, they play it all.
Naming some highlights is hard to do, because every song they played was excellent, and giving you the entire playlist, would cost me 3 pages. So go have a look and listen when they're in your neighbourhood. Or further away, they're worth it!
The youngest, Junior Jake, swings the doghouse bass as if it were a ukelele. Leadman Stan King sings and plays his selfmade instruments with lots of joy and skill. The oldest member, John Vervecken, drums as if it were his last performance. And Juan Mendez, also called Link Wray (at least by me!) plays the strings of his basic Telecaster in a smooth and spontaneous way. The way it should be. These guys really rock!

Here's another rockabilly band for you!
I haven't seen this band on stage before; I haven't got any cd's, records or demos of this bands neither. But after hearing the 4 tracks on their website, I'm already convinced of their rockin' qualities.
Billy Lee Riley's "Flying Saucer Rock'n'Roll" is good standard rockabilly.
Their version of Ronnie Self's "Ain't I'm A Dog" is my personal favourite of these 4 tracks.
"Terlenka" is a "Far-West" instrumental in sixties British Rock'n'Roll style. "Motorbike Boogie" is like most "Boogie"-songs based on a hillbilly boogie melody but played in frantic (neo) rockabilly-style.
Just hear it for yourself and bring these guys on your stage.
Good rockin' music and a good, strong voice!
